My work machine won't download the lion installer for whatever reason, and IT is stumped (I am the first Mac user there, having a mac to work on was one of the conditions of my job offer I requested before I accepted).

I do have a lion recovery disk (both DVD and USB Drive) that was made from my own home computer and AppleID account, and was wondering a few things.

-One, can you do an upgrade install from a recovery drive? When I used it for myself, I opted for a clean install, and didn't take note of any other option. A clean install on the work machine is not an option. The apple KB articles are not clear on this. The article (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433) says that the recovery disk assistant can "reinstall" lion, but says nothing about installing lion for the first time.

-Two, are my homemade recovery disks "associated" with my personal AppleID in any way? The work machine has it's own valid Lion license (through the Up-to-Date program) and AppleID (assigned to me from IT so that I could download App store apps). Rather than sit through/deal with trying to fix the download problem further, I figured that I could use my personal recovery disks as a shortcut, but I want to make sure that I can still associate the work computer with it's own AppleID. Will it prompt me to enter an AppleID during the install process from the recovery disk (basically, will I have the opportunity to associate it with the work AppleID?).

I don't want a Frankensteins monster of a machine that has all apps from one AppleID (work), and the OS from another (personal).

-Three, I heard/red somewhere that any Lion install performed from a Recovery disk (either USB or DVD) would then not be able to use Lion internet recovery. I know that Apple brought internet recovery retroactively to MBP models released in Feb, but they did NOT bring it to iMac models (even though they were released later), correct? This work machine is a 5/2011 iMac 21.5 2.7 i5.

I just want to make sure I'm not "losing" internet recovery because I'm installing from a recovery disk.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and respond!
