Hi - I'm not sure I'm in the correct forum, but, here goes.

Not quite ready to take the plunge yet, so, doing some testing. Here's what I've done:

  1. Created a second partition on my internal drive
  2. Created a "Lion Boot USB stick"
  3. Installed Lion on the 2nd partition

What I want to do, is be able to access files on my original partition from Lion, and vise-versa. Unfortunately, for the "user files", like pictures, music, etc... the OS X security is coming in to play. I don't have "permission" from either side for certain things. It looks like I can "share all", or use sudo from the terminal screen to "hack" permissions, but, that makes me a little nervous...

Suggestions? Thanks.

Right click on the folders that say you do not have permission, hit "get info" and scroll all the way down to the bottom. Hit the little lock on the bottom of the window and enter your password. Then you can push the plus button and give your user read/write permissions.

That did it!

Excellent! Duh, should have thought about that.
