Hi. I can't get into my open applications in Lion. For example, when i open trash it doesn't come up. Instead i can see it when i use hot corners, but when i click on trash after sweeping into the hot corner, all the windows disappear again. It means i have several windows open (which i see in hot corners) but i can't get to any of them. Can you help?

Have you tried restarting your computer? That's a basic first step in troubleshooting that a surprising number forget to try.

yes - keeps on happening. how do you get into a window that appears when you bring it up on corners?

If you're talking about using Hot Corners to get to Mission Control, which displays all open windows, just click on the window you want to access.

ok - that's not working, hence the question. anyone have any ideas?

only trackpad: i don't have a mouse.

i've played about a bit, and noticed this is linked to finder. When i'm in finder and go into windows it shows the items ticked, and when i sweep into the corner i get them up in miniature but i can't seem to get to them.

in fact i've noticed that this is happening in finder. anything i open in finder doesn't appear unless i use the corner sweep (when all appear) but i can't get to any of them as when i click on it disappears

Trash /Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist. Then restart Finder.
