Lion: July 14?

According to a 9to5Mac article, some Apple Store's are planning "overnights" on July 13, which apparently happens before a product line refresh. So it could be very likely that Lion could be coming out on the 14th of July along with new Mac models. What do you guys think?
 
Considering today is the 7th of July and the day is almost over and Apple has announced Lion will be released in July I'd say you have a 1/23 chance of being correct.

I'd say there is a better chance than that. Why else would Apple be planning overnights at their stores?
 
There have been a few threads discussing the Lion release date. Reality is it could come out any day. As soon as apple feels its ready to go. Could be tomorrow, could be the 14th, or the last day in july for all we know. The 14th does sound about right. I am pretty confident (as much as I can be for not really knowing:)) that Lion will hit on or before the 14th.
 
thats it then, it means lion is coming july 14 people.

next thursday is the day!
 
Kinda sucks. I'm leaving on the 13 (to visit family) and I'm debating whether taking my MBP to get Lion there is worth it or if I should wait it out, and download 10.7.1 when I come back (I'm assuming 10.7.1 will come out within three weeks.)

Just the thought of waiting that long is killing me too! I'm hesitant to take my MBP because I'm afraid something would happen to it on the plane, for example. Why can't Apple just release Lion tomorrow (a week after the GM was released). I mean, they're essentially releasing the GM on July 14, so why not just release it early...

I take my machine most everywhere, being that I use it for so much. Anyway it might come out tomorrow. Any day is just as possible IMO.

I was anticipating July 6. I've pretty much lost all hope for this week. Well, most. I still think Lion will come out tomorrow (fingers crossed) and the overnight meetings are for the staff to learn about new hardware and more in depth stuff about Lion (I think they'll be prepped at least a little bit on Lion for tomorrow, the basics.)
 
14th of July looking more & more likely now, would stick a second bet on the 15th though.

July 14th would be a good time for me, because I'm out travelling right now with internet only fit for basic web surfing, and Im going to another city on the 15th, and this time i would go to a hotel, which would be perfect for downloading. :)
 
so, July 14th....

On July 14th: I finish my finals in college...
On July 14th: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 gets released...
On July 14th: Mac OS X 10.7: Lion gets released...

On July 14th: greatest day in 2011?

HELL YEAH!! :cool:
 
It will be out next week, 2 weeks is the average time given to the GM build. GM release July 1st.

Assuming Apple is going to randomly guess at which day they will release Lion in July, I'd say you are correct.

Maybe throw a dart at a calendar? Might be a little more calculated than that.

I'm in exactly the same situation as you. Away on the 13th, back on 2nd August. Might just take my MacBook along for the trip.
