Hi there,

on my White Intel 2006 iMac I have Lion 10.7.5 installed. After an unknown update via "update" (cannot remember) I noticed that while the system boots up, there is a white screen with mouse arrow for about 10-20 seconds. After that the grey linnen-style login screen appears normally.

Just before that, I renamed the so far standard admin user and deleted the corresponding directory.

Think, that this started it all.

any help?
thank you,
Markus

I wonder if you might get more responses if you post in the macOS Lion forum:
