Lion Mail, latest message Glitch!

When I select a message in my Mail inbox it does not always show the latest message at the top. Even though it is selected to do so in preferences. It works with some message but not with others. It is a right pain to have to scroll all the the way to the top of a long list of messages to get to the latest one.

Anybody else experience this?

Yes. Very annoying. Mine seem to show up in the "middle." For instance, if I have 15 messages I am at number 7 of 15. If I have 10, it's 5 of 10. I have today twice been shocked at my checking account balance - only to see the displayed message is from 7/8 and 7/15 respectively. What will happened when we reach a hundred or so messages? I get updates all day... Maybe I just need to read more.
