Lion Not Letting Me Download Files

Since I installed lion, I haven't been able to download files using any browsers. It only downloads if I right click and say save linked file, etc. This is in safari and chrome. I'm thinking it has to do with permissions being messed up. If I lick a zip, it just tries to open it itlsef, which also doesn't work.1

Do you have any extensions installed or internet download helpers installed?
Does this happen for all users or just one?
