I'm planning on replacing my hard drive in my Macbook and iMac and I want to install Lion on them. I made a Copy of lion on Recovery Disk Assistant on a USB Drive. But everyone says it's only Part of lion and not the whole thing. If I replace my hard drives and I use the Thumb drive will it work or not. Will I have to install Snow leopard first? Please don't tell me just to clone my hard drives. I want to start from scratch and I have all my music and videos backed up to my time capsule. Thank you.

It will allow you to connect to the internet and download Lion from the Mac App Store to restore your hard drive. I don't know if it will work with multiple Macs or not.

Do you still have the Install Mac OS X Lion app that was downloaded from the Mac App Store or have you already installed it? If you haven't installed it already you can make a bootable OS X Lion installer from it and use it to install Lion on both your Macs.

It is just a recovery aid, you will still have to restore from a TM backup it just restores the operating system.
