I have a 2010 Mac Pro and a 2008 MacBook on my network. Both upgraded to Lion.

Both machines I've set my Apple ID in my User account.

Both machine under Sharing have Screen Sharing and File Sharing enabled.

I can screen share and file share each other through the Finder just fine by using my full login.

I can't do either with the Apple ID authentication to work.

Any ideas?

Same here. It won't authenticate.

Has anyone successfully done screen sharing using Apple ID?

I can't seem to find any support docs that outline the correct setup process. But I think I'm doing it right.

I'm having the same issues. I can get my MacBook Pro to connect to my iMac using Screen Share with my Apple ID, but I cannot get the iMac to connect to the MacBook Pro with my Apple ID. When I try to connect from the iMac, I get the message that there was a problem and I should check my network connection.

So, I'm guessing this is something that will be fixed in an impending update.

I should add that connecting from the MacBook Pro is inconsistent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

yeah i am having the same issue, anybody know a workaround?? Also, how did u guys add the apple id as a user name that has read/write access??
