Lion - Slow, Itunes Crashing on opening after a restart, shutdown/restarting problems

Okay so Lion has really annoyed me now. It seems after every update, it messes up more and more.

Right now its:
1) Slow,
2) Itunes Crashes when starting up on a restart. I then have to force quit and reopen
3) Restart/Shutdown requires me to manually close programs such as pages (a mac app)...


I installed lion via the app store. Do I need to do something else?

I'm ready to clean install back to SL. Sadly I do have a lot of music on here which I want to keep and work. any suggestions please either on clean installing or fixing this piece of ****?
