I have the 2010 mba 11 with SnowLeopard AND a 2011 mba (Lion).
The 2010 is quite a bit faster for everything (except video editing) and I suspect it's at least partly the OS differences.

Has anyone upgraded their 2010 to Lion? How's the speed? do you notice a slow-down with LION?

I upgraded mine recently (after 10.7.1, can't comment on the .0 release). Mostly, it's been just fine. I didn't really notice any slow-downs in my day to day stuff (using XCode, browsing the web with Chrome, listening to music with iTunes and working with Virtual Box).

I upgraded to LIon a couple weeks ago. While the upgrade itself took a while, I have not noticed any significant performance difference. Lion definitely uses more ram but I haven't noticed any difficulty running my usual apps simultaneously.

Still getting used to some of the differences with Lion and not very happy about some of them. Also waiting for some third party software updates with better Lion comparability. Only reason I upgraded so early in the cycle is my wife was getting a new Mac that came with Lion so I figured I'd find it's quirks before she had to.

I have the base 11" 2010 air and I skipped over 10.7.0 and went right to 10.7.1 and it has not slowed down much that i've noticed.

10.7.1 Everything seems to be working as it should.

Will be keeping an eye on the console for errant app messages.

I seldom reboot but have noticed cold startup and shutdowns are faster. :)

faster?! wow! I have downloaded onto a flash drive but was chicken to try it

Check the Lion forums, there's quite a few issues mentioned that might make you want to stay with Snow, which is what I'm doing for the foreseeable future.

No problems here at all, base 2010 machine. Not a power user though, but I will have 4-5 desktops open at any one time, with Safari, Chrome, Spotify, Mail, and one with Twitter and Adium running.

Only time I see the beach ball is when I launch the App Store.

Lion runs better on my 2010 MBA 11 than my 2010 15 MBP. No real slowdowns. Have you tried reset PRAM, repairing disk permission and running YASU? That might help.
