I'd like to dual boot Lion and SL, but I'd like them to share a user folder, so that when logged into either, I see the SAME Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, etc. folders for each. Not an exact copy, but actually the SAME. (Seems like a Linux sort of Home folder thing.) Is this doable? Is it insane? I assume it would require a third partition.

Here is how I would do this

Create a partition with big enough for your home folder.

Copy your preferred home folder into that partition..

go to Users & Groups

right click on you name after you authenticate then go to advance options

There you'll find 7 editable spaces one of which is home directory..choose the new location of your home directory..

If I were to do this I'd be inclined to use the Snow Leopard home folder..

You can migrate to Lion from Snow Leopard but not the other way around

That shouldn't matter but I have a gut feeling that it will..
