I backup my data (word files etc) from my MBP to an external HD no problem using Synkron and then when using Synkron to try to sync the same folder (in my home folder) on my Mac mini, Synkron produces errors due to a lack of permissions. Both Macs have the same User name (long and short) but something is different obviously as when seen from the mini, the same folder does not have me as a read and write owner. If I add that to the folder on the ext. HD (apply to enclosed folders) then the sync works. But then that folder is not accessible on the MBP. 
What is going on here, I can set the permissions to same name (long) on either mac but they are not recognized on the other mc. I also see a strange name (fetching) with read and write access on that folder after bringing to either mac after changing the permissions to include Me with read and write permissions.
Any ideas on how to make this work seamlessly?
