Lion - the good, the bad and the ugly

THE GOOD - I'm absolutely loving the Lion GM. Its going to be fantastic.

THE BAD - 11A511 won't install on a RAID 0 volume using software raid. In fact, you end up in "failed" install loop from which you cannot recover (unless you reset the PRAM).

THE UGLY - I'm still getting some serious rendering corruption in Safari. Don't know if this is just my machine, or the drivers for a Nvidia 320M or what.


I can't believe Apple is/was intending to release this build.....

Maybe because Apple until now *never* released a GM2 before pressing the dvd's. Maybe because a new GM would most likely need to go through another 14 days of dev testing again, thus causing apple to miss their july release deadline?

But then again, it's the first appstore release, so who knows what apple co es up with. It would do lion lots of good if they postponed it and release another dev version. It would hurt first impressions in this state.

I have the nv330 gpu and performance is dreadful in lion. As bad as vista rtm was back in the days. I cannot even run on the igp anymore whereas on SL i sued gfxcardstatus to run on igp 100%.
