I downloaded ML this morning on a early 2008 MBP with an unsupported RAM configuration of 6GB. Here are my initial impressions and thoughts:
1. The download took about 15 minutes
2. The upgrade process took almost a hour
3. There were NO issues with the install
4. I was never a big fan of Lion as the spinning beach balls were always present BUT with ML, well, I am not experiencing the beach ball phenomenon with any regularity. Bravo, Apple!
5. As i write this post, I am concurrently running a video conversion program (AVI to MP4), VMware Fusion with Win 7 and the entire MS suite running in Windows plus MS Project and MS Visio, Firefox in ML, PLUS the entire MS suite running under ML, and Safari in ML --- all of this with only a slight slow down.
6. Memory management is really terrific. After dealing with Lion the past year, I was seriously considering dumping my Mac as it reminded me ( in the memory management sense) of Windows Vista (ugh).
I've not tried the new features but I am really impressed thusfar.
Apple, I think you have a winner here.
