I understand from reading the Apple website as to what is necessary for upgrading to Lion when it is
released - namely running Snow Leopard. I'm also aware that many questions will simply have to wait
until Lion is out until they can be definitively answered.

I'm just wondering with regard to the clean install vs. upgrade speculation:

If I want to dowload Lion via App Store on a laptop and save it to disk, should I be able to clean install it
on a new Mac Pro with a new SSD (not in use yet) - or must it have SL installed before?

I guess my rationale would simply be: am I to believe that when Lion is released, Apple will first put SL
on all its computers and then Lion before releasing to retail?

I would think/hope I can take a Lion copy and just install that fresh without needing SL - again, I hope.
