Just spreading a nice little piece of info here. I bought a Macbook Pro yesterday from the Apple Store, and it came with Snow Leopard on it. I went through the up-to-date program to get Lion installed, and saved the installer to an external hard drive. I then installed on my 2010 iMac and it works perfectly! Maybe this was common knowledge, but I'm happy about saving $30.
I know that if you buy Lion from the App Store you can install it on any Mac you own, but I had always wondered if you did the Up-to-date program if the same thing applied. Turns out it does!
