Hi there,

(1st time posting so apologies if in wrong forum).

i downloaded lion on to my main computer and copied the dmg file over to my MacBook air as the Mac book air was unable to get access to the online store (older os version). The upgrade was going fine until time for the reboot, and now the machine won't start and has the following error in verbose mode

Blablabla... .error loading kernelcache A(0xe)

And won't move further since the kernel can't be found.

But now here my conundrum; how do I reinstall any version of os x on a system that I do not have an optical drive for?

Some of my own thoughts...
Reinstall using USB dmg?
I have no access to an optical drive any time soon so that is out of the question..

Anyone else know of an easier way out?

EDIT: [DELETED]

I misread your post, I thought you were having trouble booting off the install media. Sorry.
