Liquid Damage-help please

I bought a Macbook in June 2006. In Decemeber, I split the tiniest amount of soda on the keyboard. I had been using the computer when I split it and it continued to work fine until it shut off about a 1/2 hour later. I took it to apple they said it would cost about 750 dollars to repair. In December it wouldn't turn on at all, but now when I start it there is a blank light blue/white screen that comes up? Does anyone know what is wrong with my mac? Is there a way somewhere I can bring it where it will be less than 800 dollars to fix?

It's difficult to say if the current issue is related or not to the spill, and that's why Apple won't honor it under warranty no matter what.

Chances are however, replacing the logic board is the fix, and that's not going to be cheap. You can find pricing on many 2nd hand parts sites, the one I recommend is ifixit.com just to get a ballpark value, somewhere on the high-side usually.
