Has anyone looked at liquid glass performance? I mean it’s nice the GPU is finally put to good use by the OS but using 10x more gpu when scrolling through photos and using other OS features seems excessive and a massive battery drain.

I have 230k photos in my library, on sequoia scrolling through uses about 5 to 6% gpu. On Tahoe that jumps to 45%. Similar spikes in numbers when using a liquid glass effects.

For me this was still an issue on beta4. Haven’t installed beta 6 yet.

You don’t really feel it in terms of performance, but your battery sure drains faster.

faster battery drain has long been a 'feature' of OS betas; still things to sort out. should get better over time (or by tahoe's official release).
