A week or so ago, my iP4 endured minor water damage. Surprisingly enough, even though there was visible liquid present when I took it apart for cleaning, everything works perfectly, as if nothing happened. The only remnant of any damage that remained was a dark blob/spot on the screen. I placed the phone in a bag with dessicant and after a few days, the spot disappeared almost completely. However, there is still a faint trace of the dark blob on my screen, and it's bugging me. Touch works perfectly, so it's only a cosmetic defect. I'm wondering if there's any way to completely remove this spot, which I assume by now is not actual moisture, but residue/mineral deposit/etc, without replacing the entire display assembly? I know it's not possible to take it apart, but would something like a soak in alcohol work for this?
Anyone have similar experience? I would love a brand new looking screen again, but $150 for something purely cosmetic isn't worth it for me. Thanks in advance!
