List view in calendar in ios 8.1

In prior versions of ios I had access to list view, previously by clicking on the magnifying glass but changed in ios 7 by another button. In ios 8.1 when I click this same button all I get is a day view and not the list view? What am I doing wrong?

Because that is how it works for me in iOS 8.1.

Yeah i took that image off google image, it does work this way I just tried it. I got confused Cuz I used to just clic on any day in calendar view and it would bring me to list view right away, now theres an extra step but don't mind now that I know.

Once you select it once it should remember it and stay that way. It used to work like that and still does for me in iOS 8.1.

I have ios8.4 on my iPad and cannot find ANY way to get a list of events from the calendar except when I click on the search tool. I would like to have a full screen list view. Please help!
