It's hard to write down my question, but I hope my title pretty much sums it up!
I have been tempted to get an Apple TV in my front room, to replace my airport express plug, which would be relocated upstairs.
Currently, the airport express works great, because I play xbox, whilst listening to podcasts and music.
Could an Apple Tv be used the same way?
I would have to buy an optical out to 3.5 female converter, because the Apple TV doesn't seem to have a 3.5 out. Seems like an insane decision, but I understand they can't put EVERY port on there.
By having an Apple TV by the television, I can also use all the airplay mirroring etc.
So can anybody help me?
Basically, will the sound still come out of my speakers, even when i'm using the television on another AV?
*I tried a search, and also Apple's website but couldn't find anything that specifically answered such a question.
