When I bought my cellular Watch 10, it was partly with being able to go out phone less in mind - for short errands, rather than permanently. For the most part it is good, I can go out and get notifications etc.

However, if I am out for a walk and listening to a Podcast, it is OK whilst I am out, but when I get back it does not sync what I have listened to back to the Podcasts app. For example:
  • I listen to the first 15 minutes of a podcast on my iPhone
  • I continue on my Watch when leaving the house (iPhone is present)
  • I am away from the iPhone and Podcast continues to work. I can pause/restart the podcast.
  • I listen for 30 minutes.
  • When I next open the Podcast app on my iPhone it shows that I have only listened to the original 15 minutes of the Podcast. It does not seem to matter if I finish listening to the Podcast in range of the iPhone or not.
Apple have got the sync/handoff between Watch and iPhone right in so many areas, which makes this particularly frustrating. Is there something that I am missing here? I had hoped that it would have been fixed with iOS26/watchOS26, but sadly not.
