Where I am
Do you own a Mac Mini M1, and do you use iMovie?
Curious, would 8GB memory suffice for this model, for lite use of iMovie and general web browsing, along with Microsoft 365 use?

Thanks

With brief Mac mini M1 ownership, about two months (during extended holiday return period), I did use iMovie and DaVinci Resolve.

Depending on your definition of lite use of iMovie, 8GB may or may not enough. I have edited 20 minutes 4K videos, Mac mini M1 did fine. It certainly faster than my Core i3 Mac mini with 8GB RAM.

General web browsing is enough with Safari. Chrome is still little bit unstable with M1. Microsoft 365 works OK, Microsoft did release ARM version of Microsoft 365

I can't say how well it works now, because I have returned it few weeks ago.

I did a post about why I returned my M1 Mac minim, but in short:

1. If you seen my signature, I have few Intel Macs, such as Mac mini 2018, MacBook Air 2019 and MacBook Air 2020 and few Hackintosh. There is no need for me to keep M1 Mac mini. There aren't many native M1 Mac application just yet. There is no real reason for me to keep M1 Mac mini.

2. I don't know how long Apple would support Apple Silicon Macs.

3. There is no official Windows support nor there are Linux port to Apple Silicon. This is big disadvantage for me, I want to know, if in case of Apple stop supporting Apple Silicon Macs, I could still use alternative operating system.

Of cours, all three will likely changed. Linux port is on the way, I am confident that there will be linux port sooner or later. And many application will be rewritten to be native on ARM. And time will tell how long will Apple support Apple Silicon. I have time, my Macs are pretty new at this point and my Hackintosh its very powerful, so I have time to wait...

Well, Mac Mini picked up today. Now to test this thing.
Took a moment to get the MX Master and Logitech Keys Keyboard setup. I did not purchase the Apple Keyboard & Mouse.
