lite-on ez-dub dvd writer does it work with mac mini.

Hi I am new to the wonderful mac world and bought a mini 1.83/2X512 80gb but no dvd burner as cash was tight. In hind sight a mistake as we now have to edit footage of young daughter. So I have gone down route of an external dvd, the LITE-ON EZ-DUB looked very nice and was informed that most newer drives should work with mac. Has anyone had experince before i un-pack it and can not send it back. I am getting conflicting reports. many thanks teadigger
