The Land of Hope and Glory
Okay, as one of my better (worse?) ideas I decided to start a vinyl collection. So looking on eBay I found a few that I wanted. The seller is saying that shipping from Italy to the UK will be £7 for 1kg and under and £9.80 for 1 - 2kgs registered mail. Does that sound reasonable? I have no idea about international shipping costs at all.

Plus does anyone know how much an LP weighs roughly (packaging and all)? This is my first foray into Vinyl ever so I feel a bit in the dark when it comes to these kind of things.

Thanks for any help, for what is an incredibly stupid question :).

Its about that much to send from here to there so it sounds about right. Though word of warning.....

Italian and Greek mail is donkey mail. Its the worst in the world, I'm a powerseller btw.

Cheers. Yeah, I thought the Italian postal service would be rubbish. Most things in Italy are rubbish public service wise.

Fellow Powerseller here too. Take into consideration that shipping cost also may include packaging, time & handling.

What's that new deal with eBay not letting you ship media and charge more than $4.00? Or is that only for books? I know their Detailed Seller Ratings thing is one of the worst idears...

... that and sellers not being able to leave negative feedback for buyers. There's no reasoning behind this at all.

This has been a terrible year for sellers. Ebay' policies and new rules have gotten way out of hand. I have had more unpaid items (UPI) in the last 6 months than ever before. The price of Ebay stock reflects the problems at Ebay. Personally I think the problems lies with CEO John Donahue.

I agree with the new guy crapping things up big time - Meg Whitman was the best thing that happened and now they're flushing the last few years down the toilet. I heard from a seller that the only section not affected by the recent changes is the porn/adult section...

I dug this out of my sketchbox from earlier this year (okay now I'm done with the off-topic stuff):

Meg Whitman was the one that started the whole practice of milking the seller's dry!
