Little Blue Box with ?

many times I receive pictures that won't show up and I only get a small blue box with a question mark inside. Is the problem the format of the pictures or some other error? I know that on a PC I would get a small red box at times when something wouldn't load properly. Do I need some plugin or is the problem elsewhere?

... usually resolves by refreshing the page.

IF the files are stored locally then they may be corrupted or lack an extension (ie .png or .jpg).

If tis something on the net then there is an issue communicating with the server.

I'm sorry, this error occurs when I am using Safari with OS 10.5.2. Refreshing the page doesn't ever solve the problem. Sometimes the error shows up in e-mail attachments and sometimes for pictures on Internet sites.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Typically it shows up on facebook but also on some other sites as well. I have the lastest version OS X and using latest version of safari. I've heard it has to do with quicktime???
