Hey guys. I'm going to be getting the iPhone 4 of course and now I am selling my 3GS. I upgraded to the iOS 4 firmware but I'm thinking before selling I should downgrade back to the previous firmware for buyers who may want to unlock it. Is downgrading just as simple as finding the firmware and doing a custom restore through iTunes or is there much more to it than that?

Thanks,
Scott

Someone will give you the instructions, but just so you know, once you've updated you've now updated the baseband. So when you downgrade, it won't be unlockable again.

I was afraid of that after reading a couple of other posts. I guess I'll just sell it how it is and get what I can get for it. Thanks

Well iOS 4 runs super slow on this 3G so even if I can't unlock it, I need to downgrade back to 3.1.3. Can I just put it in iTunes and do a restore on it or is there something else to it? Can anyone give me directions?
