OS X has 'Helvetica' as a system font, but I use Postscript versions of Helvetica Neue in documents. Now I've installed Leopard, every time it starts up I get a couple of boxes saying I have a clashing version of Helvetica and that I should deactivate the non-system font.

It never did this in Tiger and I need to have my versions of Helvetica activated in Linotype Font Explorer. Is there any way to stop Leopard complaining?

I also have Helvetica Neue (alongside Helvetica) and was having some font issues after upgrading. It turns out some bundled fonts, for some users, "disappear" to individual users and have to be re-installed. If you open up Font Book and click "User" in the sidebar, you can see whether Helvetica and other key fonts are missing, and then install them (just click the "+" button and search for the font name).

Once I did this for Helvetica and Gill Sans, my apps stopped complaining.
