hey guys

was wondering if you knew about this little app called little snitch - my buddy swears by it and says its a necessity for every mac user - thoughts? i am not too convinced

Well I agree with him- I want to know about internet activity outbound from my Mac or as it is sometimes called "calling home" activity. Since activity of that nature is not at my request (except for programs I specifically allow to "call home" to check for updates) I want to know when and if that is happening in "secret"!

i see ...i agree with what you are saying but whats the difference if you have a firewall up blocking ports?

Little Snitch will prompt you to allow or disallow the "calling home". Honestly, MOST people are using LS to avoid issues with software that is pirated. Not that I would know anything about that. ;)

I have a 22 kb connection and I don't want any mummy's boy calling home on my bandwidth! "Ooohhh I've been installed ... I'm wetting my pants ... is it legal!!" Dirty splitters!:D
