Little upset with Best Buy

So I pre-ordered my phone with Best Buy because given where I live that will give me the fastest access to the phone on Friday. However I just found out that pre-order does nothing for launch day, you still have to be one of the first people in line... I called after hearing a rumor and they confirmed that when you pre-order that is for the second shipment of phones that come in and that is all Best Buy's in the nation. They told me that if I want a 4S on launch day they recommend getting in line Thursday night because last time they only received 32 phones yet they had 300+ people in line.

Why would anybody go to Best Buy over ordering it off Apple's website?
