Live feed in to FCP?

can i get a live feed of video from my HDV cam in to the canvas in FCP.

I need this because i have some chroma keyed shots i need to act against and get the same camera angle for both.

The only live chroma keying application I know of, which works with HDV camcorders, is WireCast 3. Maybe you could manage to get Wirecast 3 or even Videocue 2 to work with the Blackmagic Design Intensity if your HDV camcorder has HDMI output.

Yes. In FCP's Log & Capture settings, set Device Control to "Non-Controllable Device" and use Capture Now. But I'd recommend also rolling tape in the camera just in case a problem occurs with the live capture ... it can happen.

That said, I do not know of a way to do the chroma keying live with FCP.

You're welcome. FCP has a luma and chroma keying built in but it's very basic. Check these articles:

FCP's chroma keying, whether you're using the built-in one or a plug-in such as Conduit from DV Garage, isn't live.

I read somewhere about people using JVC HDV cameras with chroma keying and getting good results, but I forgot where so I don't have a link.
