I want to live stream the video from a samsung galaxy camera 2 to a mba.

Important: I am not talking about the samsung galaxy phone.
I am talking about the camera: http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/mobile-devices/galaxy-camera/galaxy-camera/EK-GC200ZKABTU

The samsung has an hdmi-out port.

Is there some cable/adapter that would be capable of feeding the hdmi out into the mba?

Couldn't find anything on google.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

I've had this in mind:
UltraStudio Mini Monitor or UltraStudio Mini Recorder

would this work?

I have the UltraStudio Mini Recorder. It works great.

I use it to convert the HDMI output from a Sony FS100 video camera to Thunderbolt for internet streaming.

I've never used a mobile phone with it, so I can't promise that half will work, but the UltraStudio-to-Macbook Air half of it works just fine.

(Important to note: Both the Blackmagic software settings and the application you're using to record must all be set correctly. There's no format auto-detect. So there'll likely be some trial-and-error the first time in figuring out what your device is outputting.)

Is there any lag? Are you able to record the hdmi input?

I really just stream it so I can't speak to lag. I did record a few seconds as a test once and it came out fine. I can get it to show up in any video application that's looking for a camera. (Even FaceTime!)

I don't know about that camera but I know I've read about some SLRs that have weird HDMI outputs. Like, they work with some monitors and not others. If you currently have the camera try testing it with different TVs. If it plays everywhere that's a pretty good sign that it probably won't have a problem like that.

The macbook - thunderbolt - ultrastudio - hdmi - nikon D610 works perfectly!

So I got the samsung camera today. It mirrors on the tv via hdmi, but not via the ultrastudio.

The hdmi is reconized by the samsung camera and the ultrastudio by the macbook, but ultrastudio doesnt seem to receive any footage from the camera.

I called BM and Samsung. BM was very helpfull as usual. After 3hours on the line Samsung support staff asked me if i had the ****ing cable connected ...

How could I get the ultrastudio to rcognize the samsung camera?

Sorry I can't help with your question but this ^ is priceless; just had to comment!

Cheers
they really asked me that.

The samsung technical support staff is insanely incompetent. I wouldn't know where to start ...

BM support is excellent!
Still they couldn't help me since noone knows what excatly the camera outputs through the hdmi port.
Samsung didn't even know wtf I was talking about.
