Someone explain to me why, if Mac is the platform of film and video, is it next to impossible to get live video from a camera into the Macbook Pro for streaming.

Purchased Roxio VHS to DVD for mac. Get video and audio into Roxio's cheapO software for recording. But iMovie does not recognize the usb capture device at all. Ustream Producer sees the capture device as audio only. Flash Media Encoder is the same Audio Only.

I only have SD cameras, so it has to be composite video (Yellow RCA).

It should not be this time consuming and difficult. Am I just that stupid?
