Loading pictures on Mac book pro

Hi I just recieved my Mac book pro w/retina display coming from the pc world I have been trying to figure out the easiest way to load pictures from a sd card or a flash drive on a pc I had it set to load in to my pictures as an album by date and it would also duplicate in DPP photo editing software at the same time automatically by date how can I set up my Mac book to do the same tahnks in advance for any help with this,
