I searched for how to do this on the iPhone 4 with iMovie but never found a solution. I thought with the iPad 2 the answer would be obvious but unless I'm blind I couldn't find it. Yes you can use a camera connection kit and directly transfer pictures and videos and it works great. But what to do about videos not on an iPhone or made by an iPhone?

1. I tried adding the video to the iMovie app share in iTunes. Doesn't show up in iOS iMovie.
2. Nothing in the iPad video app is selectable in iMovie for editing so simply syncing movies doesn't work.

The answer is the photo tab in iTunes. If the video has been added to iPhoto it can be sync'd with the iPad (1 or 2) simply by selecting it in iTunes. This works for videos created on an iPhone or iPod Touch as well as videos downloaded from YouTube directly as MP4.

Hope this helps. I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in this.
