local Apple Store out of Stock?

Were there any report of Apple Store last year that ran out of 1st gen Iphones on launch day? I'm afraid my local Apple store will ran out of Iphone tomorrow if I don't start getting in line now 9 hours from launch? I pass by this afternoon and there's already about 10 people in line!

I'm planning on going around 2pm Eastern time. I'm not too worried about them being out.
