Hi all,

Since somewhere in macOS 10.14 there is a strange window popping up when I do local filesystem operations like copying.

I have a MacBook Pro (where the file operating is done) and I have second Mac (mini). For every filesystem operation a window like shown above is shown on the Mac mini. It is actually transferring files (I see it in the firewall and network monitor) but I have no idea where they are stored.

Even if I disable all sharing options and even with macOS 10.15 the window is still there.

Does anybody of you know what it does and how to get rid of that?

Thanks!

Maybe you have iCloud syncing your "Desktop & Documents Folders" ?

Go to System Preferences-->iCloud-->iCloud Drive Options button and see if the Desktop & Docuements Folders box is checked. You probably want it not checked.

It happens also when I copy / move files outside the iCloud's folder, e.g. Downloads or the user's home directory, even some external drives. It feels like that the data is somehow cached at the others computer in case I want to paste it there that it can be persisted in no time.

Does anybody observe that behavior?
