I used to maintain my music library (100Gb) for years on a NAS but some years ago I went to iTunes Match to try to move things to cloud for the aspect of sharing my library on all devices even those not attached to my in-house NAS. I want to know is it better to kill iTunes Match vs using Apple Music, I do some DJaying with iPad or laptop and would like everything to be cloud storage or should I just store my music database on another cloud storage. There are custom mixes stored in my library and yes even music Apple cannot match for some reason.

Trying to simplify with spending a lot of money. Any suggestions from some music audiophiles out there?

Thanks!

I am not a DJ but does it make sense to own and have higher quality music stored locally. I assume iTunes Match and Apple Music would limit the quality. Also for shows perhaps you would not want to rely on an internet connection?

Recently I set up a new device and it asked for an old password for music we had purchased on another computer many years ago (on a different iTunes account) and I couldn't remember it. That's annoying and would not be good f I were a DJ...

P.S. I think for iTunes Match it keeps your local copy but matches it so that you can stream it from the cloud (rather than locally and it doesn't upload your copy or delete it right. You should have this music still.
