Hi all,
My out of warranty PS3 started locking up 5-30 minutes into gameplay.
Speaking with Sony, they told me that I could send it in for repair for $99, and would have the unit back in a couple of weeks.
However, I took the unit to a local "repair" shop, who attempted to fix the problem by attempting a reflow of the GPU. It was unsuccessful, and now the unit displays nothing on the screen.
Is it too late to now send it in to Sony? Will they know that the repair person worked on it? Does it matter to Sony?
Thanks!
