Hi all!

In lion there are now local time machine backups but my question(s) is:

1. is there away to disable/ delete them?
2. can i limit the amount of space it uses?

Thank you all in advance :)

I use a MacBook and only backup to time machine once per week (occasionally more if I have been doing a lot)

when I have done my backup, I turn time machine off in preferences, not getting any local backups now

when I plug my backup drive in, I just turn time machine on until the backup id done

not ideal, but it has stopped local backups

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

I am on a mbp, love it to bits ;) but I think I will need to go that way...

Any other opinions are welcome :)

I have also seen this command mentioned, but not tried it myself

sudo tmutil disablelocal

Thank you for this :)

But I might stay away from terminal just in case I stuff something up :s

I really actually do appreciate this though :)
