Local vs Dynamic Global hostnames

The name of my iMac (late 2012) on OS 10.10.3 has been changed on its own from "XX's iMac" to "XX's iMac (2)" Looking at Sharing Pane where it shows "XX's iMac-2.local" instead of "XX's iMac.local" Also there is an option to use Dynamic Global Hostname. My questions are:
(1) Is the name change normal, if not, how to change back? and (2) Can I use Dynamic Global Hostname, any differences?
