Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me. I am thinking about getting Apple TV and therefore want to put a load of my movies into itunes. However, this takes up a lot of space on my internal HD so I want to move the movies folder onto my external but keep my music on my internal. Is this possible to do? I tried simply moving the dragging the movies folder onto my external HD and whilst this worked it means you have to locate the new file location ever time you open it which is a bit annoying. Any ideas?

Cheers

This is the exact setup I use (music internal, movies external). Move all of your films to the external and delete them from iTunes (but don't delete the files!).

Then, in iTunes preferences, uncheck the option to copy files when adding and drag your movies back into iTunes.

Et voila!
