Recently my external hard drive got dropped  and no longer works. The normal flow for my photography is to connect a SD card reader to my laptop; open iPhoto and import all the images. Create folders on the laptop and export the images from iPhoto to the named folder. Backup when needed and over time delete the folders from the laptop. My main question is does my MacBook Pro with OS Snow Leopard save my folders in a second location on the drive that I may be able to retrieve these older images. Not sure if there is a footprint or auto save that may help me find these deleted folders. Thanks for any info or assistance, even a software recovery program would be something worth trying.

Nope... sorry.
