Currently two weeks in with my first Mac and I'm still learning my way around. I'm in the middle of playing Half-Life 2 and have taken quite a few screenshots in-game, but can't for the life of me figure out where to find them on my computer. I've looked around in Finder, Spotlight, etc., and haven't had any luck.

Hopefully this is an easy question to answer, but can someone please tell me where my screenshots that I'm taking can be found? Thanks.

Is that through Steam? When you select that game in Steam it should list the screenshots you have taken. Another way to take screenshots is to press "command+shift+3" and it will save the picture to your desktop.

The function I use to take screenshots in-game (for me it's "j") is different than the one you're referring to. I think yours is one that Steam enables screenshots to automatically be uploaded to its online cloud, and this gives you the option to broadcast them online. The way I'm doing it only saves screenshots in the Steam folder; if I go to Screenshots in Steam, there are none.

My question really is where the Steam folder (containing game info, preferences, etc.) is saved on my hard drive. Like I said, this is my first Mac so I'm used to finding everything in the endless My Computer labyrinth on PCs. Wherever the Steam app is located is where the screenshots folder will be, but aside from finding Steam in Launchpad and in the Applications folder in Finder, I can't find it anywhere.

Just searched around for this myself, so I though I might as well post the answer since I looked for several seconds and couldn't find it anywhere on the internet:

Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/(username)/half-life 2 (episode or whatever)/ep2 (or hl2)/screenshots

It's that easy.
