Hello does anyone know where the boot logo is located on the iPhone? Because wouldn't it be easier and quicker to switch the boot logo that was put on by pwngetool with just manually switching it?

i dont think it can be found in the file system of an iphone. my guess is that its like the EFI of a mac computer, where it requires a flash of the hardware to allow changes. A firmware is basically a reflash of the hardware so thats why the image is possible to change.

Correct. You can't just change the file, it would require a restore with pwned firmware. Change the boot logo with pwnage. That is the only way to do it.

Accessing the Start Up Boot Logo Image

Destination is best found either using SSH or iFile (Application from Cydia)

Best to start right from the beginning for this process.

Go to: System\Library\CoreServices\Springboard.app

Then scroll down till you see the Recovery Logo and Boot Logo.

These can be modified but need to be configured so they appear when you start up your iDevice after powering it down....Hope this helps and hope this post doesn't get deleted....

Since I've got iOS 7, this probably is not current info- what I hate is the bland windows-8 style "no defining details" apple logo.

But what concerns me, is that I have a white 4S, so my boot screen should be a black logo on white BG. But instead I get the regular white apple on black background.

Now, I've got the black and white icons in there, how to I tell the springboard which one to use, I'm going through all of the plists in there, is this a mod I can change?

I suppose I can replace the white icon with the original iOS 6 icon, I have an iOS 6 respring logo added thru winter board. But I really wanna get the white bootlogo happening, everything I've read says I should have it.

[edit] ok I replaced the blando logos in that folder with original iOS 6 logos, from the classicrespring bundle- I think the boot logos in the Springboard.app folder *are* the respring logos. I'll have to test that out by disabling my classicrespring theme.

I know this is a couple of years old, but I want my iPhone to boot white, heh. Well if it all depends on which IPSW file I used to update, I'll have to wait until iOS 8.

But as far as the assumption that the boot logos are in the bootrom, well the bootrom can't be written, otherwise Apple could patch the iPhone 4 bootrom exploit. So it HAS to be something in the iOS that chooses the bootlogo and if it will be white or black. If anyone knows how to manipulate this, I'd like to know, thanks.
