Since Lion makes local "snapshots" when your external Time Machine hard drive isn't plugged in, is it possible to delete the local old individual snapshots?

Obviously you can disable the snapshot feature completely in Terminal, but that's not what I want to do. Where are the snapshots located and can I delete em individually?

I would be careful about tinkering around deleting those manually. If you want to delete them all, just turn Time Machine off then back on and it will delete them and start fresh.
