photos now are not showing the location automatically until you click on the info icon manually. This result in many photos are not searchable via location unless the photos have been clicked at info button previously.

Those photos that are not clicked at info button only have date/time stamp rather than date/time/location

Any ideas why this is happening? Location have been turn on. The photos does capture the location but they are not showing automatically.
 
I’ve check a few of my friend’s iPhones that is ios16, all of the recent photos locations are not displayed automatically.
 
Haven’t noticed it until I’ve read your post.

Just checked it and indeed, mine “working” the same way as yours.

Bummer!
 
yes, I have the same problem , and I'm on iOS 15.. not sure when this happened but before the location would appear automatically
