Location services - Enabled - Does it drain your battery still?

What is the verdict? I know having it off prevents programs from using GPS. What about when you arent using any of those programs? Ive heard both sides of the story, whats the verdict?

It does nothing to your battery simply for having it on.

The GPS will be on when you using the maps, or camera app for example. Normally it won't. So if you are in the menu screen, with phone locked, location services stet to on, the GPS will be inactive, and thus won't drain. Try it for yourself.

As others have said, it wont drain just enabling it, if you are using something that requires it then sure, it will take battery.

But if you have simply enabled it, and are not using an app that utilizes it, then it makes no difference.
